The Most Jaw-Dropping Beauty Looks at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards

Television has seen a major renaissance in recent years, thanks largely to streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, especially in aВ nonstop digital ageВ in which having cable is a polarizing entity. Regardless of your viewing preference, though, the selection from which to choose is a giant candy dish of premium 30- to 60-minute viewing pleasure. From the gripping suspense of The Handmaid's Tale to theВ heartwarming, gut-wrenching family tiesВ inВ This Is Us, the water cooler conversations certainly haven't lacked in contentВ since the previous award season.В В

Tonight, we celebrate the actors who have given us performances that have left us crying on an airplane, laughing on our friend's couch, and covering our eyes with our bedsheets. While we're enthralledВ by their on-screen presences, we know theirВ goldВ carpet arrivals will have us just as moved. Below, our favorite beauty looks from the 70th annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

Stylist Craig Gangi wanted to let Alexis Bledel's whimsical Delpozo gown take center stage, so he left her hair sleek and simple, spraying each section with Matrix StyleLink Heat Buffer Spray ($9) before flat-ironing.

Leave it to Tracee Ellis Ross to turn up the volume and make everyone hit pause. The Black-ish actress wore spring 2019's biggest trend: neon pops of color. Her bright orange lids (which are a mix ofВ Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipstick in Tell Laura, $24В and Eyes To Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadow in Bette, $32) and magenta lip (Hot Lips Lipstick in Carinas Love, $34В andВ Hollywood Lips in Screen Siren, $34) have us pining for summer all over again.

Jessica Biel stunned, per usual, in textured, beachy waves styled by Adir Abergel, who says he was inspired by the "Pre-Raphaelite era, in which young women considered their delicate long locks their glory and conveyed the
ultimate femininity through its soft, romantic texture." To achieve body and shine, he applied VirtueВ One for All 6-in-1 StylerВ ($36) andВ Moisture Defining WhipВ ($36) to wet hair before blow-drying with the GHDВ Air HairdryerВ ($199) and creating waves by bending the GHDВ Platinum+ StylerВ ($249) back and forth along the lengths of the hair.

Tina Fey contrasted the daintiness of her black lace gown with a messy, abstract topknot.

Stylist Robert Vetica wanted Alison Brie's look to be "fresh and carefree," so he created an old-school set before deconstructing it for more movement and texture. First, he dried her hair using Olivia Garden's new Ceramic + Ion High Performance Professional Hair Dryer and Olivia Garden NanoThermic Ceramic + Ion Round Thermal Brush. Then, he took Leonor Greyl Г‰clat Naturel Styling Cream and worked it throughout the hair before brushing through the set with the Olivia Garden Divine Care & Styler Brush "to ensure the perfect comb-out."

Vetica also employed the help of Leonor Greyl Voluforme, spraying it at the roots after back-combing for more height as well as all over to hold the style long into the wee hours of the after-party.

Millie Bobby Brown's shoulder-length style was gently waved around the face and bent outward at the base, a style as fun in nature as herВ cupcake-style dress silhouette.

Makeup artist Adam Breuchaud's inspiration for Sarah Paulson's look was "clean and chic New York Ballet meets classic red carpet moment." For her deep oxblood lip, he used Pat McGrath MatteTrance lipstick in Guinevere ($38) set with Colorescience Sunforgettable Setting Mist ($39).

Yara Shahidi let her stunning pink gown speak for itself with a simple high bun and soft, neutral makeup. The trick to her dewy skin? Inspired by Oh's dress and the "rich Moroccan colors and textures," makeup artist Danielle Vincent used three different products to achieve her warm chocolate lip. First, she applied Proenza Schouler for LancГґme Lip Kajal Pencil in Soft Brown at the base, then topped it off with LГўncome L'Absolu Gloss in 230 and L'Absolu Lacquer in 274.

HerВ ethereal 'do was created by stylist John D who first created S-shaped finger waves with the GHD Curve Classic iron before pinning the style back into a low chignon, leaving a few face-framing pieces out. He finished the look by attaching seasonal flowers along the bun and misting all over with TresemmГ© Compressed Micro Mist HairsprayВ ($7).В
