So… apparently, the best place to buy eye cream is not any of the high-end retailers where you're used to shopping for beauty products but instead the very place (er, digital place, that is) where you can order trash bags and self-help books and rewatch episodes of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Indeed, when it comes to affordable, high-quality skincare backed up by scores of unbiased consumer reviews, Amazon is where it's at.
Poking around Amazon's skincare department earlier this year, I discovered that the e-tailer has a low-key incredible eye cream selection. I was truly amazed (and a little bit skeptical) to find over dozens of products from brands I'd never so much as heard of before with thousands of positive reviews-and almost all of them were in the $15 to $30 range. Curious to put some of these intriguing finds to the test myself, I placed an order for the five top-selling Amazon eye creams that piqued my interest the most and set out to write up my honest reviews. For transparency, I will say that I am 26, so I'm basing these reviews on skin that doesn't have a ton of fine lines yet, but hey, this is the time to start, and the same ingredients that will prevent wrinkles on 26-year-old skin will help dimish existing ones. Cool, well, now that we're all on the same page, keep scrolling to read my reviews of five best-selling Amazon eye creams.Byrdie LilyAna Naturals Eye Cream Moisturizer $19Shop
If you are looking for a super-moisturizing, non-irritatingВ eye cream that is vegan,В cruelty-free, and made withВ 77% organic ingredients, then thisВ will be your jam. I love that the product isВ creamy but non-greasy, has barely any scent at all, and is concocted with hydrating ingredients like vitamin C, vitamin E, and rose-hip oil. Also digging that there are no parabens, artificialВ colors, or artificial fragrances, so it's safe for sensitive skin.В And the packaging (it comes with a pump dispenser, by the way) is obviously adorable. The product also contains hibiscus extract, whichВ the brand calls "nature's Botox." Real talk: Does thisВ formula have any serious active ingredients proven to fight wrinkles, like retinol or chemical exfoliants? Nah. But it will hydrate and protect the delicate eye area without irritating it, and it looks cute in your bathroom, which, for $17, earns it a high rating from me.TruSkin Naturals Eye Gel $15Shop
There is so much to love about this formula: The hygienic and convenient pump dispenser, the lightweight gel consistency, the fast absorption, the 75% organic formula, and the moisturizing and soothing ingredient listВ containing plant-derived hyaluronic acid,В aloe, cucumber hydrosol, and peptides, which are shown to fight wrinkles. (Oh, and the $16 price tag doesn't hurt either.) Fun hack: If you're trying to minimize under-eye bags and circles, keep this stuff in the fridge and apply it when it's cold. The icy temperature willВ constrict the blood vessels, reducing that weary, puffy look.ВВ Byrdie Neocutis Lumiere Bio-Restorative Eye Cream With PSP, Anti-Aging $97Shop
I had never in my life spent almost $100 on eye cream before, and hitting "confirm purchase" wasВ genuinely scary, butВ ugh, I hate to say that the price tag is kind of there for a reason. What this product contains that the others on this list don'tВ is an ingredient called Processed Skin Cell Proteins, or PSP. This is a proprietary ingredient to the Neocutis brand, developed by Swiss scientists, and it contains human growth factors, which seriously biologically work as an anti-ager. The product also contains real-deal nourishing ingredients like caffeine, hyaluronicВ acid, and bisabolol. Basically, if you'reВ willing to spend money fighting fine lines and wrinkles around your eyes, this is the one toВ try (or at least put on yourВ Christmas list).В Byrdie InstaNatural Eye Gel Cream $12Shop
This formula is quite similar to TruSkin's. It's natural and nontoxic; vegan and cruelty-free; has a gel consistency;В comes with a pump dispenser; and contains wrinkle-fighting peptides, hyaluronicВ acid, plant stem cells; and amino acids. But it has cuter packaging than TruSkin's,В in my opinion, and it's a little cheaper. It smells like cucumber, which is nice and refreshing. My only qualms are that it feels a little tingly upon application, so maybe isn't the perfect choice for sensitive skin, and the textureВ strikes me as a tiny bit sticky. But if neither of those things bothers you, I'd definitely give it a shot, especially for only $12.ВBaebody Baebody Eye Gel for Dark Circles $55 $25Shop
Here we haveВ yet another cruelty-free, pump-out eye gel made with plant stem cells, aloe, hyaluronic acid, peptides,В and vitamin E. I personally found this formula to be a littleВ stingyВ (so not ideal for sensitive skin), but I do believe in the efficacy of these ingredients, and the thousands of Amazon reviews with photos showing a reduction and puffiness and wrinkles speak for themselves.
